Specchio d’Italia foundation intervenes in support of the vulnerable, in Italy and abroad. It was born during the COVID-19 Emergency from the experience of La Stampa - Specchio dei tempi foundation: a non-profit organization that has been operating in Turin, Italy and around the world for 65 years.

Donate nowEvery Christmas we embrace the poorest and loneliest elderly people
Donate nowBased on the values of practicality, rapidity and transparency, Specchio d'Italia works nationally and internationally supporting families in difficulty, the elderly alone, schools, health care and operating in the event of emergencies and disasters.
The social planning of Specchio d'Italia aims to give immediate and concrete help to those who really need it.
Solidarity grocery packs for Specchio d'Italia have also arrived in Genoa: help for those needy families who have become further impoverished during the lockdown. In collaboration with the Ceis Foundation and the city scouts, Specchio distributed 300 food packages of 23 each, to as many families. Now the work with the Ceis continues in the Fegino district, a peripheral area 15 km from the centre, strongly disadvantaged yet eager for change. About 400 children live here, to whom we want to offer an after-school and activity programme (sports activities, cultural and naturalistic visits, workshops) to combat school truancy.
Donate now“Scuola Bottega” is a historical school-work course for the recovery of the middle school certificate launched sixteen years ago by the Cooperativa La Strada and grant-aided now by Specchio d'Italia. The aim of the project is to get back to education girls and boys at high risk of leaving school early, contrasting school abandonment and leading students to middle school certificate. The educational course lasts one school year and includes also experiences of approach to the world of work. It involves 15 pupils aged between 14 and 17 that attend the courses at the Cooperative and are indicated by the local schools.
Donate now2000 people live in the former Bastogi residence, which officially is not even intended for residential use: mainly Italian families in conditions of fragility and economic difficulty. It is estimated that at least 300 children and adolescents are growing up in these buildings on the outskirts of Rome, many of whom have never been to school. To keep these children away from organized petty crime and give them a future, Specchio d’Italia is launching an after-school programme and a programme of games and workshops to encourage socialization. During the first months of the Coronavirus emergency, 60 backpacks were distributed with stationery products and books to read. Collaborating with the non-profit organization “Amici dei bimbi”, Specchio aims to become a reference for the neighbourhood.
